The Sun in the Night

Carve hollow my heart and swallow one side,
With you, the other did follow beside.
I long for return re’ignition of soul,
So low it’s high-time for two halves to come whole.
-
Oft’ taken for granted when together to hold.
Without you beside me I am likely to fold.
My mind it does ponder and wonders alone,
And I vision the day you come wandering home.
-
You share shade in the blistering warmth in the cold,
No other with whom I’m intent to grow old.
In truth we at times fall in darkness and fight,
Though to bask in the Sun we must sleep through the Night.
